Some people think that is is time consuming and expensive to have beautiful and healthy hair. However, it really takes little or no time or money, just a little know-how. Healthy hair doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. Be sure you check out the tips below if you want to know the truth about hair care.

If you feel your hair is looking a bit dry, there are many in-home conditioning treatments you can use. Once you are finished washing your hair and have gotten out a bit of the wetness, use a conditioner then a shower cap. The heat that generates under the shower cap will help the conditioner penetrate the follicles of your hair.

Avoid blow-drying your hair. Styling your hair with heat can often damage your hair and cause it to become frizzy. Instead, wrap a towel around your hair until it is no longer wet. This allows your hair to naturally dry, avoiding a frizzy appearance.

Trimming your hair does not affect how fast your hair grows. Human hair can grow only about half an inch every month no matter how regularly you cut it. You may see it grow a little faster in the summertime, or when you take supplements containing biotin, but that’s because there are hormones that contain growth. Trimming your hair does get rid of split ends, which makes your hair look a lot better.

You should not ever tug or rub your hair using a towel when you are drying your hair. This will cause your hair to be frizzy or break it. Pat your hair dry with a towel. You should also avoid brushing or combing it while it’s wet, unless you use a wide-toothed comb.

Add some moisture back into dried up hair by using a deep conditioning treatment. Just slightly dampen your hair and use a large amount of conditioner. Try wrapping the hair in a damp towel or even try using some plastic wrap to keep the heat in. Then, let it sit for at least thirty minutes before washing the conditioner out with your favorite shampoo.

When hair conditioning, be sure to spread the conditioner evenly throughout your hair for best results. To get the full benefits of conditioning, let your hair absorb the conditioner before rinsing it out.

Try to keep out of the harsh elements during the winter months. Cold weather can dry your hair and reduce the oils and nutrients that are essential for proper health. If you’ll be stuck outside for a while, carefully bundle up first.

There it is. By making some changes to your hairdressing routine and using a couple of new tricks, you can expect others to envy your hair. If you take the time and effort, you can achieve great results without spending too much money.
